The award is for climbers looking to run indoor climbing wall sessions with groups using top-roped bottom belayed techniques. The course covers scope and remit, equipment, safety briefing and warm-up, bouldering and games, tying in, belaying and alternative devices e.g. use off Grigri. The award is ideal for teachers, youth leaders and instructors with some basic climbing experience on indoor walls. The course comprises a 7 hour training session (normally run over two evening sessions) and a separate 3-4 hour assessment. The assessment is booked at the end of the training session as part of your personal action plan.

Working closely with an experienced Mountain Instructor you will be introduced to multi-pitch climbing on classic routes in the heart of Snowdonia.
